Our Story

Founded in 1998, SADTU Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd (SIHOLD) is a BBBEE (Level 1 Contributor) investment company wholly owned by the SADTU Investment Trust (SIT). The beneficiary communities of SIT are the more than 256 000 members of the South African Democratic Teaches Union (SADTU). More than two-thirds of SADTU’s members are women.

The company seeks to participate in transactions that provide both strong cash returns and long term above average returns for its stakeholders. To this end our company strategy focuses on both operational entities and minority stakes in profitable established and new business ventures.

SIHOLD is an established company with shareholding in a number of listed and unlisted entities. SIHOLD holds interest in media and communications, financial services, resources, property and consumer services. SIHOLD has some exposure to listed investments which are managed by FNB Securities. The Board continually assesses the market to create and maximize value for SIT and its community of beneficiaries.
